I just turned 50 in November 2017. My Jubilee year.

I had been wrestling with God for the longest time... which is not my norm. In my 20+ years walking with Him, I generally obeyed swiftly — not because I'm super spiritual, but because that's just how I've lived since I was saved.

By then, I had already built a successful business. Since 2008, I'd served corporate executives, small business owners, and entrepreneurs across three continents, in different cultures and faith backgrounds. I was well rewarded. Genuinely happy.
And then God showed up in my kitchen.

November 9, 2012. 5am. Las Vegas.

It was my birthday. I take communion with God on my birthdays, and I was about to begin my ritual.

As I opened the Bible, I sensed a heavy presence behind me. I thought my husband had come downstairs to wish me happy birthday.

The presence was so real, I turned around to greet him.

He wasn't there. But the presence still was.

I knew right then — I was in trouble.

"Happy Birthday, Kelly!"

I heard Abba say it clearly.

Thank you, Abba, I replied in my heart.

I wasn't prepared for what came next.

"What do you want for your birthday, Kelly?"

Three days earlier, our family had written a letter to God — asking for breakthroughs: salvation for certain family members, healing for others, financial provision, career clarity... even a new washing machine.

Part of me wanted to scream: "Well, how about that letter?!"

But something held me back.

I thought: If this is my one chance to ask for anything... I'd better think carefully.

What I Asked For

"Father, if You could give King Solomon wisdom, then I'd like to have it too. Not only for me — for my husband and kids as well."

I felt relieved. And terrified.

Then I saw and sensed the biggest grin on His face.

"Well done, Kelly! It's granted. AND those items on the letter as well."

(In less than three weeks, every single item on that paper came to pass.)

"Is There Anything I Can Do For You?"

I know it sounds silly — who am I to do anything for the Almighty?

But it flew out naturally.

"Yes, actually. I have something in mind. Do you love me, Kelly?"

I was physically trembling. I had to hold onto the kitchen counter to stand.

"Lord, You know I do. Can we skip the other two questions? Please just tell me what You want me to do."

(Remember Peter's three denials? Jesus used three questions to restore him. I didn't want to go through all three.)

With an almost stern voice, I heard:

"Kelly, I need you to feed my sheep in the marketplace."

My Attempt to Negotiate

I tried to plead my case.

"Sure, God! Look at my client list — I'm ALREADY helping Christians in business..."

(I also had clients who weren't Christians. I didn't want to offend anyone. I wanted to keep my market wide.)

Then Father was quiet.

Oh, how I hate His silence. It usually means He's not pleased.

More silence.

I gave in.

The Mandate

"I'm sorry, Abba. Please tell me what You meant."

"Kelly, I understand you're in transition. The family is about to relocate to Thailand. After you go home, I need you to go bolder and larger scale to mentor my kids in the marketplace.

You've been serving both inside the church walls and outside in the marketplace. I've equipped you to impact lives wherever you go — kingly anointing in the marketplace with grace.

But many of my children don't know how to operate properly in the marketplace with my principles. They either give in, compromise, or remain stuck circling the mountains.

I've taught you how to love the unloveable, expect disapproval, and stand firm. I need you to gather my Esthers and Josephs, and equip them to meet their own 'kings' in the marketplace.

So together, we can create the true marketplace revival."

The Mission

I had to step out of my comfort zone.

Not just serve "entrepreneurs." Not cast a wide net for business reasons.

I was called to serve aspiring Christ-centered founders — the ones who've been around the block in life and career, who've walked with God, and yet still carry unfulfilled dreams and callings inside themselves.

These are women who know they have to do something NOW — or go to the grave less than fulfilled.

This is surely a mission field, not just a business.

If it were only business, I'd keep the net wide.

But this is a mandate.
